According to the plan I recieved, people with even numbered addresses can water Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday 10am-6pm and 10pm-6am. People with odd numbered addresses can water Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10am-6pm and 10pm-6am. If FBMUD#81 wants to limit everyone to only 2 days a week, they need to reword the plan to say "Users with even-numbered addresses can only water outdoors on Mondays and Thursdays and Users with odd numbered addresses can only water outdoors on Tuesdays and Fridays" instead of what is currently printed.

Beside insulating pipes from cold weather, a very effective way of protecting pipes from freezing is to introduce a circulating pump into the water system. By installing a circulation system, the water from the 'hot' side of the system gets sent to the 'cold' water line. This greatly reduces the possibility of water pipes freezing because the water temperature never reaches the critical freezing point.

The best one on the market I've seen is available at http://avoidfrozenpipes.com/ It is the only circulating pump I've seen that doesn't need electricity to run. It can be installed anywhere in the water system, and save hundreds if not thousands of dollars in home repairs if frozen pipes burst from water expansion.

You have great looking blog and lots of worldly experience. Very impressive. As you will find out, blogging does take some time, but it does have a tendency to be addictive. My blogging objectives are to focus on emergency management issues affecting Fort Bend County and the Houston region and State of Texas to some extent. I am hoping it has value to both the public and the emergency management professional. Thanks for viewing my blog and thanks for commenting!

Great timing and good advice. I'm going to share this information with our Occupational Health people out here to see what we can post for our employees to take proper precautions. They've already asked about putting a heat warning out but we're tied to the NWS system that requires a heat index of 108 for three days, or something similar. I think we can put something out before then.

Good information, Jeff. Thank you.

Dear Jeff,
I am glad I found this great resource. I worked several years with UNICEF in different countries, also in the field of emergency. I just started a blog on emergency management, I would be honored if you would like to check it out from time to time.

Mark, I don't have any special information related to Myrtle Beach area. However, I do know that some forecasters are predicting a more active season for the Eastern Seaboard and the Western Gulf Coast (Texas!). As compared to last year, it is felt by some that the storms will start farther south and put these areas at greater risk.
